Good Luck
Hello Shreyansh,
Optometrists can handle nearly all the medical aspects of ophthalmology. They can prescribe medications and treat eye diseases but they do not perform surgery.
When patients develop cataracts, optometrists can help them navigate the surgical course, and an optometrist practice situation often dictates his or her specific role in patient care.
Hope it helps.
Good Luck!
