I am a PCB student currently studying in 11th grade. I want to know the procedures to get into Universities of UK. Also what all eligibility and procedures to get into Cambridge , Harvard and Oxford ?

Vedang Ranmale 9th Oct, 2021

Hello aspirant,

I assume that as you are a PCB student, you want to study medical in UK colleges. So, the most basic and important thing to secure admission in any UK college is the IELTS exam which you would need to clear and excel in it. Next, for medical fields, you need to clear the Bio Medical Admissions Test (BMAT)  and UK Clinical Aptitude Test (UKCAT). You must take the BMAT in the year that you are applying as BMAT scores are valid only for one year. The test is held in the first week of November, so you should register in advance.

There are certain documents required for the admission process later as follows:

  • Attested copies of academic transcripts / mark sheets of class X and XII or any other diploma
  • Academic letter from your professors, who have taught you most recently
  • If you have work experience, then Letter of Recommendation(LOR) from your employer, who can comment on your professional abilities
  • Statement of Purpose (SOP)
  • Academic Resume/CV
  • Photocopied score reports of IELTS/UKCAT/BMAT
  • Proof of Funds / Financial Documents

Also, for the application, you can apply from the common entrance portal Universities and Colleges Admissions Services (UCAS) portal

I hope this helps, All the Best!

Hello Ashiffa,

Sorry to inform you dear but you can only re-apper for the improvement exam in the succeeding year only i.e. 2021 in your case.

See if you've passed your 12th in 2020 then you should filled the improvement form around August/September 2020 itself.

Drop a mail at CBSE or ask any of your friend/relative here to go visit their office regarding your situation.

Im an sc candidate with 468 marks and all India rank is 114254. can I get gov seat through AIQ in UP or UK or Panjab. Im basically from Himachal

Priya Patel 8th Nov, 2021

Hello,

At AIR rank of 114254 and neet score of 468 you have less chances at all india quota seats.

But you can apply for state medical colleges as the state cutoff is less than all india quota states for mbbs and bds seats. as you havenot mention state its hard to predict the colleges.

You can also apply for private colleges and deemed universities as you have good chance at them.

You can use careers360 college  predictor to know the colleges you can get at your NEET score:- https://medicine.careers360.com/neet-college-predictor?icn=QnA&ici=qna_answer

I have one year gap after my inter(12th class). i.e, I have dropped out of my BTech after one year and started freshly in another college. now I have graduated successfully and got an admit to a UK university. Do I need to mention this gap in my UK visa application? would that affect my visa?

Drishti Yadav 2nd Dec, 2021

Earlier age gap was a matter to take an account of , however after the new UK student visa system called point based system came into effect now it becomes the duty of your academic sponsor to check your documents , if they issue you letter of acceptance then UK border agency will not investigate anything regarding the gap. Also a gap of up to 2 years is allowed for undergraduate and diploma students, plus for postgraduates its 8 years, also you need not worry about mentioning the gap since they ask you regarding the gap and all you need to do is to justify the gap. A one year gap is acceptable, plus the major reason for rejection of visa is insufficient funds and not the gap of education, so if you mention it just justify the reason, because your age would be reflected in the documents so think well and take the appropriate decision.

What should I do for studying abroad (UK) MBBS ? How should I choice the collage to study abroad countries like UK and US ?

megharawat8080 2nd Dec, 2021

Hello aspirant,

Hope you are doing well, here's your answer.

Indian students are required to have a 10+2 completion certificate and NEET test score to apply for MBBS at UK university. Minimum score required is 50 percentile. You also need to clear national medical admission test.

Thing to be checked before choosing the college to study abroad:-

1.Does the university offer the right course options and flexibility for you?

2.How does it rank for your satisfaction and care?

3.What are your career prospects? What percentages of its students go straight into employment or further study after graduating?

4.What are the teaching standards like?

5.How does it perform in terms of research activity?

6.What facilities are on offer? Consider things such as libraries, lecture halls and study spaces

7.Are there extra-curricular opportunities such as student unions, societies and sports teams?

8.Is the university based on campus or spread out over a city?

9.Where in the UK? Studying in a city centre London University will be a different experience to a smaller university in Wales that is close to the countryside.

10.What are the course fees and accommodation costs and standards like?

11.Is the institution recognised by UK authorities as having UK degree awarding powers?

Hope this will help you.

All the best for your journey.

I have a low 6.8 GPA with 6 backlogs in my bachelors from tier 2 university(amrita university) and I have 1 research project and paper, I have done one project. my GRE score is 319 and my IELTS is 7. will I be able to get admission from good colleges in us for masters or should I choose the UK?

Aashiketa 28th Sep, 2021

Hi, the information that you have shared is a little incomplete. It really depends on what specialization you are going to take and in which college. Your GRE score is good and so is your IELTS band. If your research based project is related to what you are going to do your specialization in then the chances of you getting into the good universities are high. You can try for UK as well but most of the courses in UK are of 1 year and masters of 1 year is not globally accepted. So, if you are planning to come back to India at some point with your Masters degree or at any other place for that mater the certificate won't be valid as 1 year masters are not globally accepted. So, it is always better to weigh your chances and future and then select what is the best option for you. Thank you. All the best!

if I do my ug mbbs in Russia or European countries and do my pg in the US or UK, Will I be exempted from writing the FMGE? what are the pros and cons of studying ug abroad?

Sourasish Nath 28th Oct, 2021

No, according to present scenario, if you do your pg in the US or UK after completing MBBS from Russia or any European country, there are low chances that you will be exempted from writing the FMGE. In order to practice as a doctor in India one needs to clear the FMGE exam but there is an exception for 5 countries which are:
1) USA
2)UK
3) New Zealand
4) Australia
5) Canada
If a student does both UG and PG from these countries then they might be exempted from writing the FMGE. So, only doing pg will not be very helpful.
The pros and cons of studying ug abroad can be summed up mainly by the following points:
Pros:
1. It is an opportunity to immerse yourself in a different culture
2. You will be able to develop transferable skills and experience which can enhance your CV or resume.
3. You can build your foreign language skills and efficiency
Cons:
1. You may not be able to get part-time work or internships due to visa restrictions
2. Getting accomodation is tough for foreign students in many Universities
3. International scholarships are very competitive and the cost of education as well as living is high in foreign countries.

sir when will uttarakhand counselling for btech 1st year on the basis of jee score start??.........i got 68.4 percentile can i get cs in any govt college of uk ( genral and i have state domicile)?

sheemaashraf123 9th Nov, 2021

It depends upon the JEE Main and JEE Advance cut offs, If You manage to qualify the exam by achieving the cut off, You can apply for JOSAA Counselling. It should be noted the cut off for EWS/SC/ST/FEMALES/OBC category is lower than the general category
However It is usually advised to fill the choices as per the preference of colleges and departments, for example CSE in NIT Trichy is your priority followed by CSE in NIT Warangal, you can fill CSE at NIT Trichy at serial number 1 and CSE at NIT Warangal at serial number 2 and so on and so forth. However to get any NIT, you must have qualified JEE Mains and to get any IIT, you must have qualifies JEE Advanced

But the previous cut offs of colleges should be taken in consideration, it is better to research over the cut off of colleges then make a preference list of colleges and fill accordingly

For the college preferences and the courses provided by these colleges and to know which colleges participate in the JOSAA counselling, please go to the below mentioned link: https://engineering.careers360.com/articles/josaa-participating-institutes/amp
