UPSC Civil Services Exam
Hi
You can become an IAS Officer by clearing the civil services examination conducted by UPSC every year.
There are 3 rounds in the exam
Once you passes the intermediate level or class 12th, decide your area of interest in terms of optional subject. Go through the List of Optional Subjects for UPSC, and pursue your graduation in that subject. To appear for the exam, the candidate must have a Bachelor's degree from a recognized university. Also candidates who are in their final year and waiting for the final results are also eligible.
Hey! Of course yes!
As long as you have a graduate degree in a certified subject and are above 21 years of age, you are eligible for UPSC CsSE, i.e. you can become an IAS officer. In fact you don’t even have to choose commerce as your optional subject necessarily, you can choose any optional subject of your choice, regardless of whether or not you have studied it before.
All the best for your future pursuits.

Hey! To be a good officer, it doesn’t matter what your educational field has been. People from all walks and backgrounds become officers and what they had pursued does not act as a hindrance in their way towards becoming a successful officer.
Keeping that in mind, preparation for CSE takes a lot of time and effort so the best piece of advice could be choosing the field that you find the easiest. Although there’s no such thing as easy in IIT but there’s always subjects that we tend to be more comfortable with.
Hence choose whatever you can do without facing too many challenges. All the best!
Hello Aspirant,
Hope you are doing great. You must be a graduate in order to sit for the UPSC civil services exam or the IAS exam; nothing else qualifies you. Therefore, it makes no difference if you choose PCB or PCM in your 12th grade or pursue arts, commerce, engineering, or medicine to graduate. Graduation is the only thing that is necessary.
Students studying biology are eligible to take the Union Public Service Commission's IAS (Indian Administrative Services) examination. However, you must have received a Graduate Degree (Bachelor Degree) from a reputable university in any discipline in order to appear in the IAS Examination.
If you are serious about UPSC, I'll advise you to pursue a bachelor of arts degree. Sociology or political science are both acceptable majors. One can pass any government exam, including the UPSC, SSC CGL, State Public Commission Exams, and RRB, with the aid of these subjects.
ALL THE BEST

Hello,
For the IAS exam, you can enroll in any bachelor's course. It would be great if you figured this out and solely pursued your bachelor's in this discipline as you are already clear that you want to choose Botany/Zoology as optional studies. The optional subjects are crucial to the IAS exam. Even if you are uncertain about this, you should choose B.SC (Zoology, Botany, Chemistry). Because you would be able to study both botany and zoology in this, and you could also choose an optional subject at the end.
