In India, the minimum legal age for employment in most non-hazardous sectors is 14 years , but for jobs like working in a call center, the age requirements can vary by company. Many call centers require employees to be at least 18 years old , mainly due to working hours, night shifts, and labor law compliance. At 17 years , it is generally not allowed to work in night shifts or full-time call center jobs, but some companies may offer internship, part-time, or training roles for minors with proper consent from parents/guardians. Always check the company’s official job eligibility criteria and ensure compliance with Child Labour (Prohibition and Regulation) Act, 1986 .
