After Diploma in Mechanical you can give JEE and join any Institute for BTech or BE in Mechanical Engineering. Remember that some colleges offers Lateral entry provision for Diploma holders, they get direct admission in 2nd year while some Institutes do not offers. IITs and NITs do not offer lateral entry provision.
