Hi Student,
The process of admission differs from college to college.When it comes to lateral entry,some colleges conduct an entrance exam before admission.Some college gives direct admission based on marks.Yes you can take admission in Bsc computer science after diploma in mechanical Engineering.When you aim for it you have to gather lot of basic knowledge about the computers.I hope it will be helpful to you.
