It completely depends upon you how you see it. If you work hard surely there is a bright future ahead and if you take it lightly you won't learn anything. There are many students pursuing bams all over India.
Surely there are govt jobs for bams doctors. The payscale varies in private and govt sectors. For example a bams doctor in a govt sector would likely be earning around 50k+ whereas in private sector it varies starting from 20k - 25k. Once completing your pg your earnings would increase accordingly.
