With the rank of 5 lakh and belonging to sc category, getting a seat in the Bachelor of Dental Surgery can be a bit difficult in Telangana. But it also depends on the reserved seats and the cutoffs.

Rank of 5 lakh means your NEET marks are below 250, which is lower than the usual cutoff for BDS even for SC category in most government and private dental colleges.

But if you participate in state counselling conducted by KNRUHS, you might have a chance in the last round or mop-up rounds for private dental colleges.

The expected cutoff ranks for SC candidates in Telangana for government colleges are around 7,840 and for private colleges around 356. A rank of 5 lakh is extremely high, and admission to a private or deemed college would likely require a much higher rank, possibly exceeding 300,000, and depend on later rounds of counseling.

• For private BDS colleges , the cutoff can go up to 3.5–4 lakh rank (SC category) sometimes, depending on the year and vacancy.

• At 5 lakh rank , you might not get a seat in the main rounds , but you can try in mop-up or stray vacancy rounds in private or deemed universities (if you can afford higher fees).
