At IIT Patna, transferring directly from a B.Sc. (Bachelor of Science) program to a B.Tech (Bachelor of Technology) program is not permitted. The institute's branch change policy allows students to switch between B.Tech programs after the second semester, subject to specific academic criteria and seat availability.

Since B.Sc. and B.Tech are distinct programs with different curricula and admission processes, a direct transfer between them isn't feasible. If you're interested in pursuing a B.Tech degree, you would need to apply afresh through the standard admission process, which involves qualifying in the JEE Main and JEE Advanced exams, followed by JoSAA counseling.
