Top NITs/IIITs : Admission to top-tier NITs or IIITs, particularly in competitive branches like Computer Science, is unlikely with an 88 percentile. Their cutoffs are typically higher.
Government Engineering Colleges : You may have a chance in some government engineering colleges or newer NITs, but it might be in less competitive branches or specialized programs.
State Engineering Colleges : You have a better chance in state engineering colleges where the cutoffs might be lower, particularly in branches other than the most sought-after ones.
Private Engineering Colleges : Private engineering colleges are more likely to offer admission with an 88 percentile, possibly in branches like Mechanical, Civil, or Electrical.
