Hello aspirant,

Well 4 lakh is not a very good rank, but according to past year's trend, there are chances that you might get into a private medical college for MBBS, not in very 1st round but till 3rd round or stray vacancy round you might get into a private college for your desired course. Several private MBBS colleges have NEET All India Cut-off ranks ranging from 400,000 to 500,000. Below mentioned is the link, where you can check which colleges fall into the category of 4 lakh rank,

I hope this helps. All the best for your future.

Hello,

It is extremely difficult to get accepted into a private MBBS college in India with a NEET score of about 4 lakh. Due to intense competition, the cutoffs for the majority of private medical schools are significantly lower (better ranks). Though these typically have high fees, some colleges with lower fees or in less popular states may still have some seats available through management quota or NRI quota. It's crucial to closely monitor private college cutoff trends and state counselling lists. As an alternative, take into account related programs with lower cutoffs, such as BHMS, BAMS, or paramedical programs.

All the best.

Hello there,

With a NEET rank of 4 lakh , getting an MBBS seat in government colleges is extremely unlikely , but admission into a private medical college is possible , especially under certain conditions. Here’s what you need to know:

1. Private Medical Colleges (Management Quota)

  • Many private colleges in India have management quota or NRI quota seats.

  • With a 4 lakh rank, you might still be eligible for management quota in some lower-tier private colleges , especially in states like:

    • Tamil Nadu

    • Karnataka

    • Andhra Pradesh

    • Uttar Pradesh

  • The fees can range from Rs. 12 lakh to Rs. 25 lakh per year (or more, depending on the college).

    2. Deemed Universities

  • Deemed universities like DY Patil , Bharati Vidyapeeth , SRM , etc., may offer seats with higher ranks under open/management/NRI quotas .

  • However, fees here are usually high (Rs. 18–25 lakh per year).

    3. State Counselling: Participate in state-level counselling for states allowing other-state candidates in private colleges (like Karnataka COMEDK, Tamil Nadu, etc.).

    4. Documents & NEET Eligibility

  • Ensure you have qualified NEET (crossed the minimum percentile—40th for OBC/SC/ST or 50th for general).

  • Keep documents like NEET scorecard, domicile, minority certificate, and category proof ready.
