Yes, of course you can. Belonging from a village area/village collage doesn't mean you aren't eligible to sit in CAT. All they want is bright student with great knowledge domain. All you need to know about first is what is CAT?

Here's the link,  first read it out -

What matters the most is your percentile in cat examination , so here's the link for how CAT calculates percentile-

After complete analysis and make a schedule and start your preparation.

Hope this helps.

Hey Shilpi,

Dont get worried if you have graduated from a low village college. Education is important and also your marks. The criteria is that you need to have a bachelor's  degree or any equivalent degree.Minimum of 50 percent marks is required in your graduation level(general category) and 45 percent marks (reserved categories). You can register in your 2nd year of your graduation or also in 3rd year or after that. Many study centres provide the best tutions for CAT.Also self hard work is always a must.Refer here for more

Dear Vishwa, yes you can definitely prepare for CAT. It doesn't matter from which college you have graduated, if you meet the eligibility criteria then you can give the CAT exam.

The eligibility criteria is -

  • Minimum Marks: Pass the above exam(your graduation exam) with at least 50% marks or equivalent CGPA (45% marks for SC/ST/PWD categories).
So, what requires is just 50% marks in your graduation that's all and you can give CAT.

I hope that you will difinitely  give CAT exam.

All the best :)

Hope this helps :)

Hello Vishwa,

Self confidence plays an important role in cracking the CAT exam.

Now coming to the question, I would emphasize that you start working on the basics. Try to find out the areas and group them into your strengths and weaknesses. Start devoting your time accordingly.

Once the basics have been done, then try your hands on the previous year papers. These are must to be done by everyone sitting for CAT. Once you become some confident in this, you should go for a couple of test series that will help you in knowing your current level of preparation. These mock tests and previous year papers will act as teacher for you and they will serve a great learning purpose. Do these things regularly with complete sincerity and keep improving accordingly. These things will help you a lot, but make sure that your self confidence is upto the mark and you start believing in your capabilities. I hope this helps.

Hello,

Of course you can. The eligibility criteria for CAT is just to have a graduation from a recognised college in India, so it would not be a problem if your college is from a city or a village.
