Dear Manju, there is no lateral entry for MBBS. You have to appear for NEET, qualify and then join 1st year of MBBS. And there is no concept of lateral entry examination for MBBS. A bridge course between BDS and MBBS in under discussion but nothing for B.Sc Graduates. And again the Health Ministry has confirmed that as of June 2019, there is no such proppsal to allow BDS Graduates tonpractise modern medicine. The Dental Council of India has sent a proposal to MCI but now with MCI being scrapped off in favour of NMC, it is yet to be seen how this would shape up. And the Health Minister has also replied in Rajya Sabha if Candidates who have completed BDS can directly join 3rd year MBBS, he said there was no such proposal. And also when asked if BDS and MBBS have similar syllabus in the first 2 years, the Minister replied that 'According to the Board of Directors appointed in supersession of MCI have informed that the syllabus is not similar'. So in short everything remains the same for NEER 2020, as it was for NEET 2019. If you are planning on appearing for NEET 2020, here is some important information:

Hello Manju ,

You can't go for MBBS directly from 2nd year BDS. First you would have to complete your BDS, then, if you still want to do MBBS,you would have to clear the entrance exams again for MBBS. Yes, there are talks of bridge course after 3rd year BDS, which will get you into MBBS. The draft national education policy 2019 has recommended sweeping changes in medical education sector. The draft policy recommends that nursing and dental graduates should be allowed lateral entry into MBBS courses. the first one or two years of MBBS course will be common for all science graduates after which they can take up MBBS, BDS, nursing or other specialisations.

The first year or two of the MBBS course will be designed as a common period for all science graduates after which they can take up MBBS, BDS, Nursing or other specialisations," the report said. Common foundational courses based on medical pluralism will be followed by core courses focused on specific systems, and electives that encourage bridging across systems, the draft education policy added. Graduates from other medical disciplines such as nursing, dental etc, will also be allowed lateral entry into the MBBS course. A medical education qualification framework to achieve this will be developed in conjunction with the NMC (National Medical Commission).

The committee has recommended that on the lines of the NEET exam for entry to MBBS, a common exit examination for the MBBS should be introduced, as was also suggested in the National Medical Commission Bill.  The common exit exam will play a dual role as also the entrance examination for admission into postgraduate programmes.  This exit examination will be administered at the end of the fourth year of the MBBS so that students are relieved of the burden of studying for a separate, competitive entrance examinations at the end of their residency period. It has also recommended similar common exit examinations for dental education and other disciplines.

BEST WISHES!

Hello aspirant, anybody who fulfills NEET criteria is eligible to write NEET 2020 . In 12ty you need to have 50 percent marks in Physics , Chemistry and Biology. Your should be atleast 17 before January 2020. You have taken admission in BSc nursing , that is not an issue. If you get a better rank in NEET 2020 , you can go there.

Have a look at this..
