Assuming that you are asking about Army Institute of Technology (AIT),
Appearing in JEE exam is must to get admission in AIT. AIT offers B.E courses to those students who are interested to do career in Engineering domain of the Indian Armed Forces.
- Eligibility Criteria:
1.Only Wards of serving/retired Army personnel are eligible to apply for admission to AI T.
2.The parent should have completed minimum 10 years of service in the Army.
- Availability of Seats:
AIT offers four year B.E. course in CSE and the seat matrix is:
(a) Computer Engineering - 120 seats
B.Tech/B.Arch Admissions OPEN
-Entrance Examination:
AIT admission is based on the All India Ranking obtained in the Joint Entrance E xam (Main) conducted by National Testing Agency (NTA). All applicants are r equired to appear in JEE Main and final list will be declared as per A ll India Rank.
(In AIT, last year’s last admitted student’s All India Ranking w as 1,66,320).
Talking about the difference between AIT and IIT, both are the topmost colleges of our country however, If you are from army background and you want to persue career in Indian Armed Forces as an engineer, then you can take admission in AIT college through your JEE Mains ranking. Otherwise you can try to take admission in IITs and NITs.
