There is no fixed cut off for CAT exam. Cut off varies from college to college. There are two cut off one for calling the students in interview round and other cut off for final selection of students.

Again this cut off is not only based on CAT percentile because CAT percentile is one of the parameters in the aggregate score made to rank and call students. There are many other factors like 10th, 12th, graduation marks, engineer or non engineer, gender, work experience. Again weightage given to each parameter in the aggregate score varies from college to college.

For you reference the CAT cut off to get a call from top IIMs like IIM A, B, C requires above 99.7percentile. For other old IIMs you need to have above 98 percentile. And for new IIMs you need to have atleast above 95 percentile.

Then for other private colleges who call students on the basis of CAT marks requires percentile from 85+ in TAPMI, going through 90+ in IITs to 99+ for FMS.

Aim for a very high percentile in order to get a call from a good reputated college and to convert it.
