Hello,

In UPSEE counselling seat allotment is done on the basis of your general category rank. There are a certain number of seats reserved for category students and they're alotted seats according to their general rank.
If you belong to a certain category like OBC/SC/ST etc then it'll be helpful for you to get admission in better colleges than what you'll be getting through your general category since the cutoff is lower.
