The candidates are allowed to choose their courses on the basis of preferences and seats left in the course.
Your marks in ECA will decide your rank and that rank list is later utilised to allot seats to the students.
If you scored really well in that, you can get your desired course in that college.
But if not, then either you have to choose a different course or a different college.
