It is always better to do BTech after 12th than go for a diploma. What I want you to know is that your preferences will always be changing as you grow. You might want to become an engineer now but believe me you may change your mind later sometime. And then if you have a BTech after 12th, it will be easier for you to switch ways. Moreover, even if you don't that's still a good way.
