Yes, income certificate is mainly required when you're opting to take admission through EWS category in DU.
When you will visit campus for admission on cut-off basis,college authorities will ask for your Income certificate.
Income certificate will be made in your nearby tehsil and from the name of your father.
As you're not earning and is considered as student now, income certificate will be made from your father's name.
Also, while filling DU admission form you had to opt EWS category instead of General category, i hope you had chosen EWS category earlier.

Yes Sandhya, yo will require income certificate for admission in DU under EWS catergory. Its because the EWS category has a condition that the candidate seeking admission under EWS must have family annual income under RS 8 lacs.

Hence the income certificate is a proof that you would be able to submit if you fall under that category.

The income certificate will be under your fathers name since you are not an earning person.

So I request you to apply for the income certificate at the earliest.
