If you are interested in the field of Information security and technology, it surely is a wonderful place to be in. If your focus is on traditional branches such as Marketing/HR then SCIT shouldn’t be your priority college.

• Placements: SCIT final placements have showcased an increase in the number of companies taking part in the Placement process. 40+ companies came for the campus placement process and IT/ITES were the top recruiting segment this year. Approximately 40% of the offers were from this sector. The Consulting sector has been a major recruiter in SCIT with almost 35% offers in this segment. There is no guarantee of 100% placements but there will be no dearth of opportunities. Some of the big name recruiters are Accenture, Axis Bank, Ernst and Young, Deloitte, Microsoft Research, Vodafone, Wipro and so on.

• Courses: Courses are designed in a way that they are extremely relevant in the IT industry. There are courses on Data Sciences and Data Analytics which have a huge future scope in the corporate industry.  Courses are a mix of theory plus practical education which is relevant to the current needs of the industry

• College Life: There are multiple student-run clubs in the college which you can join as per your interests. All the information about various clubs is given on the college website. There are lots of guest lectures and seminars which are held in the college which will provide you with fresh ideas on different topics.

• Campus: The campus is shared with SCMHRD in the heartland of Pune which is Hinjewadi. The campus is in the city which provides with a wide variety of opportunities. You can interact with other college students inside the campus as well which will provide a new facet of peer to peer learning

• Location: It is located at Hinjewadi which is the hub for all IT companies in Pune. So location plays a part in placements as well.

An MBA degree focuses on teaching the core aspects of Business and the different functions involved in it through branch specializations. Hence choose which specialization you want to pursue an MBA and then join a college. With regards to placements, majority companies are not particular about differentiating undergrad degrees. So if you are interested in the IT sector and are willing to learn, it will be good. If you want to pursue traditional fields such as Marketing/Finance/HR/Ops and so on, then it will not be a good idea

I would suggest you to opt for Finance specialisation as you belong to a commerce background. But it is completely your decision. You can choose the specilisation of your choice.
