see you should definitely do coding classes or practices while you are doing your b.tech course. however there is various course like web development, object oriented programming, data science, data analytics etc. now see each of the course has their own job criteria and scope in future. it is difficult to predict particularly any of the course. so my suggestion is first familiar with each new technology from youtube , talk with your seniors teachers , do some free courses available in coursera, udemy then decide which of the course you want to study elaborately.

You are in BTech CSE/IT you are supposed to learn coding in the curriculum itself. So you have nothing to go for externally in order to learn. In BTech curriculum the languages such as Python, JAVA, C++, C are taught in depth so you have nothing to worry about. See you have to learn the courses very well not only for passing examination but in a manner that you understand the dynamics. As a result I would always recommend you to go for the course very sincerely and seriously.

Secondly if you want to learn something externally then you can learn about Data Science from online resources. Data Science have a good future ahead so if you can earn the knowledge of Data Science and Statistics externally and if you mix this knowledge with your coding skills in curriculum then you will become a best choice for most companies and you will not be left unrecruited. Also if you can try to join some internships, this will help you not only to earn some money but also will add some experience value in your CV which will help you laterwise in getting jobs.
