To be eligible for JEE Main 2025, you need to meet the following criteria:

1. Age Limit: There is no age limit for appearing in JEE Main. However, candidates must meet the age requirements of the institutes they are applying to.

2. Year of Passing Qualifying Examination: Candidates should have passed their Class 12th or equivalent exam in 2023 or 2024. Those appearing in their Class 12th or equivalent examination in 2025 are also eligible to apply.

3. Subjects in Qualifying Examination: Candidates must have taken at least five subjects in Class 12th/qualifying examination to be eligible for JEE Main 2025. The subjects must include:

- Physics

- Mathematics

- Any one of Chemistry/Biotechnology/Biology/Technical Vocational Subject

- Any language

- Any other subject

4. Number of Attempts: A candidate can attempt JEE Main for three consecutive years. Since JEE Main is conducted twice a year, the candidate may appear in both sessions. The attempts for a particular academic year will be considered as one.

5. Qualifying Marks: There is no specific percentage requirement in the 12th standard for appearing in JEE Main. However, for admission to NITs, IIITs, and CFTIs, candidates must secure at least 75% marks in the 12th class examination, or be in the top 20 percentile in the 12th class exam conducted by the respective Boards. For SC/ST candidates, the qualifying marks would be 65% in the 12th class exam.

Ensure to keep updated with any changes or additional criteria that might be announced closer to the exam date by the National Testing Agency (NTA).

The application form can be completed by candidates who passed their class 12 in 2022, 2023, or 2024 and are planning to appear in 2025. It is not possible for students to enrol in JEE Main 2025 if they graduated from high school before 2022. Candidates must have taken any subject from Chemistry, Biotechnology, Biology, or Technical Vocational in class 12, in addition to Mathematics and Physics.
