To get admission in BSc Microbiology candidates must have passed Class 12 or equivalent from a recognized board with Physics, Chemistry, and Biology as compulsory subjects. In most of the colleges, admission in BSc Microbiology course is done based on mark of the candidate in the Class 12 examination. Based on the marks merit list is published and the candidates get their seat. For most of the colleges the minimum required marks to be eligible for apply is 40-50%

Also, some Universities conduct their own entrance exam and the admission is done based on the score of the candidate in the entrance. Some of the entrance exams are AMUEEE, LPUNEST, Assam CEE, HPU MAT, IISc Entrance Exam etc.
