I would prefer Madras University over St. Joseph college.

St. Joseph college is definitely not good in terms of placement. For people who want to do PG just for name sake, and for the absolutely useless popularity of college name, this is a good crap choice. If you really want to do PG, with all your heart and motivation, you shouldn't even think of this college, not even as a last option.

On comparing both the Colleges University of Madras is the best University which is the top University and established in 1885 and best best education and top placements with good packages average package is 6-9lakhs but st Joseph's  is na private college and established in 1994 not that experienced then University of Madras and also University of Madras is government College and state University where as st Joseph's is affiliated college so based on all categories University of Madras is the best choice
