A prestigious historic university with a strong academic reputation, it holds an NAAC A++ grade, enhancing the value of its affordable degrees. However, placement support is inconsistent—on-campus median packages are modest (~₹4.2-6.5 LPA), and distance-mode students receive no placement assistance.
NAAC A++ accredited with a CGPA of 3.59, this esteemed university offers over 230 courses across 87 departments. Renowned for advanced research in fields like nanotechnology and biophysics, it has produced five Indian presidents. Its pioneering autonomous college system provides modern curricula, and the IDE offers a common syllabus for flexible learning. Student reviews highlight helpful faculty and affordable fees, though some note occasional pressure and unhygienic conditions. Ranked 38th among universities by NIRF 2025 and a UGC "University with Potential for Excellence," it maintains a strong academic reputation.
NAAC A++ grade (effectively a 4-star rating) signals solid academics, but placement performance is average. The median package for PG students is around INR 4.2-4.8 LPA, with roughly 37% of eligible students placed. High-volume recruiters include TCS, Accenture, and Cognizant.
College infra is decent: big classrooms with fans & blackboards, some projectors, Labs have working PCs & scopes. Library full of books, few e-desks. Cricket ground, basketball, badminton ok. Hostels 4-sharing, clean, WiFi (slow evenings). Mess food fresh & hygienic. All used, maintained well.
Pursuing MBA Marketing via distance-fits my Chennai sales job perfectly, lets me upskill without quittting. Materials are crisp on branding & analytucs; video lectures clear, profs responsive on forums. Curriculum covers core well, includes Reels & influencer trends post-ban. Paired with live projects, feels job- ready. Solid choice!
Placements this year were decent-75% of our MBA batcg got placed. Highest went 18 LPA to a marketing guy in Unilever, average hovered around 8.5 LPA (monthly FMCG & e-con roles). Companies like ITC, HUL. Amazon, Zomato visited. Process was smooth-online aptitude, GD, then interviews; training team prepped us well with mpck sessions & resume help. College was super supportive, no fees for extra classes. Felt worth it
Distance MBA Marketing: Rs. 18k/year. Cheap! Modules sharp on branding, analytics. Videos clear, forums active. Placement cell hooked 75% batch avg 8.5 LPA. Work full-time, study nights-total ROI win
Campus is compact in Chennai suburbs-best: green lawns, open canteen chats; worst: cramped parking, rainy floods. Clubs for dance, quizzes, fest prep. Students chill, teachers helpful, staff quick. Safe area, 24/7 guards, clinic on call. Handles emergencies fine.
Campus vibe: lush lawns, chill canteen hangouts-top perks! Downside: parking chaos, monsoon puddles. Clubs rock-dance-offs, quiz nights, annual fest madness. Peers laid-back, profs approachable, staff zippy, Chennai suburbs spot-safe, gated, clinic ready for oops moments.
Amazing learning experience. You can explore genetics. The campus life is also good. Teachers are good at communication and expertise at the subject. The equipment and laboratory infrastructure is amazing. You can master required skills here.
The syllabus and academics thoroughly support the Curriculum for all the major competitive exams. And also the teaching learning methodology is useful to crack any competitive examinations. The syllabus covers everything.
I’m not aware of the placements and the process till now because i’m in my Postgrad First semester and I haven’t experienced placements here. But i’m sure the placements here would be good in this university.
Outstanding facilities, including WiFi in the library, lecture rooms, and laboratories. Beautiful surroundings and tidy living quarters. Every classroom has a smart board for interactive learning. Infrastructure and education was in high level.
Effective learning is guaranteed by the professor's clear delivery of lectures. Mini projects in every topic provide us real-world experience and get us ready for the workforce. Gained valuable information and skills for the future.
college provide great opportunities with competitive pay. 80% of students in the all programme get placed each year. For all the graduates get the highest average wages, displaying a good track record of employment. Positions, and their Career Opportunities.
Yes madras University has a huge campus, and surprisingly all the classes have lights and fans which is surprising. It has mediocre canteen facilities, the campus is moderately clean but it could be cleaner. Parking facility is available for staff as well students.
I am undergoing UG in Bachelor of Commerce. The quality of education is satisfactory but the staff have a little bit of temper. The curriculum can be updated keeping in mind the changing educational advents
The placement opportunities are plenty, but the recruiters select only 1 out of every 10 students. The average salary offered by the recruiters is 3000 per month. The interview were conducted in a nice way
20000 per year is was my average educational cost. The benefits is equal to the cost in my University. But the transportation cost is making me broke. The food in my canteen is value for money and the samosaa and tea is good too.
The best feature about my college is that it is very near to marina beach so we get very good air quality. The students are friendly, and some are are down to earth overall it is a safe space to get my education

The infrastructure is decent and the library has enormous number of academic as well as other books which is quite usefull in all aspects. The smart boards help us in taking seminars and make the clas more interactive.
The curriculum is updated frequently and covers all the recent topics. It is well structured which makes us job-ready. There will be many guest lecturers to talk about recent advances in this field which is useful.
The placements have been very good so far. Almost all the students get placed and are satisfied with their job. The lecturers take effort in bringing the companies to our campus and make our life easy.
Classrooms in our college are good and neatly maintained. We have many lab facilities.. free Wi-Fi is also available for 2GB per day. Each department has its own library facilities.. the hostel has a very good environment. The quality of the food served is also good..
The course curriculum is very good. the curriculum is flexible to and you can change any subject from any department in the college. There is a project that should be provided on the final year and the most important is that to give it as a research...you can also do online certificates and add to your subject and increase your credits and this is accepted in this college...
The placement are somewhat good. Around 75% of the students get placed in campus placements itself but the rest get placed through out of Campus interviews.. main college does not provide internships the student should find internship on his own or with the help of the faculty...
The fee structure is very affordable. It's the second cheapest in all over India.. students who are doing their post graduate have to pay rs. 26000 per year and 13000 paneer for SC or st students..
There are many extra curricular activities conducted each week in all departments with includes lecture quizzes debates and many more...the gender ratio is very healthy and the students from different states and countries are studying here... So the overall campus life is good..
Very good infrastructure, various departments , big classrooms , various facilities available for students to use . .. have various buildings for various departments ... Good infrastructure... With various facilities.
Staff is good... Various faculties for various specialisation... Curriculum is ok.. can improve in academics... Need improvement.. otherwise good college.. academics wise also ok.. but can be improved..
Very poor in academics as well as placements.. not much companies come in and doesn't have much in return . But can definitely improve in this aspect.. can bring in more companies and also improve....
