GMR Institute of Technology is an autonomous institute affiliated to Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University Kakinada. Admission to various B.Tech programmes of GMRIT is done on the basis of marks obtained in the Entrance exam i.e. AP EAMCET. The institute releases a list of the cut off ranks for the AP-EAMCET every year.
70% seats of the total seats are filled through Ap Eamcet score while 30% seats are filled by the candidates who apply for direct admission through management quota. These 30% seats are filled on the basis of marks obtained in the qualifying examination. And additional 10% seats are reserved for diploma holders who join directly in the second year of the course i.e. lateral entry. No seats are filled through Jee Main score. To get admission in GMRIT you have to qualify Engineering, Agriculture and Medical Common Entrance Test (EAMCET)
