Government College of engineering Bargur has AAA Rating in engineering, the college has a public ownership and was established in the year 1994, the college offers eight courses those are BE computer science and engineering, BE electrical and electronics engineering, BE electronics and communication engineering, BE mechanical engineering, BE electrical and electronics engineering part time, ME applied electronics, ME computer science and engineering, and ME power Electronics and drives.

The admission in BE courses will be on the basis of Tamil Nadu engineering admission entrance exam, the merit list will be prepared according to the weightage to percentile obtained by the candidate in the entrance exam, board exam, choice filling and counselling.

The admission in ME courses will be on the basis of TANCET conducted by Anna University or candidate having a valid GATE score will be eligible for direct admission, final selection will be on the basis of merit by Authoritative body.
