Hello Parag,
If you talking about the nits, iiits,
You can not take admission other than getting good marks in jee mains. For IITS, you have to clear jee advance with desired rank.

For other colleges like vit or srm, do appear for respective entrance exams to take admission.
If your rank is low, honestly speaking, you can go there if you have money.
