Indian Institute of Engineering Science and Technology (IIEST), Shibpur was established in the year 1856. IIEST was formerly known as Bengal Engineering College (BE College). No there is no other way to get admissions in IIEST shibpur. You have too give JEE mains exam and get the cut off rank. Candidates should appear and qualify for the Joint Entrance Examination (JEE Main). Based on the marks scored in JEE Main, candidates have to register for IIEST Shibpur's official website to participate in the counselling process.

Admissions in IEST Shibpur are processed for ug courses through merit of JEE mains results and for Mtech is based on results of GATE . IEST Shibpur also conducts an entrance exam along with interviews for candidates for PHD level courses. Also in this college , 50 percent of seats are reseverd for candidates outside west bengal and rest seats for the candidates within West Bengal.
