how can I join BArch after completing diploma

Now if you want to pursue B. Arch afterhaving completed  diplomain architecture, then in that case, you will have to appear in the National Aptitude Test in Architecture or NATA. You will have to qualify the exam to be eligible for admission in the various B.

The council had earlier made it mandatory for candidates to have 50% marks in physics, chemistry and mathematics to sit for the exams.


In its earlier letter to the higher education department explaining its decision to make physics, chemistry and mathematics marks mandatory, the council had mentioned that candidates who have secured 50% aggregate marks in Plus Two or an equivalent exam with 50% score in physics, chemistry and mathematics would only be eligible for admission to the architecture course.

There are three entrance examinations conducted in India for admission in to B.Arch. The list of the entrance examination is given below

  • National Aptitude Test in Architecture (NATA)
  • JEE Main
  • JEE Advanced

The eligibility criteria to appear for these entrance examination is different. Here I'm providing the eligibility criteria


  • NATA: A candidate must have passed 10+2 or Diploma with Mathematics as compulsory subject from a recognised board.   • JEE Main/JEE ADVANCED: B.Arch/Admission: Candidates should have passed 10+2 or equivalent exam from a recognized board with a minimum 50% aggregate marks.Admission in to NITs/IIITs/CFTIs is based on JEE Main score and for admission in to IITs it is based on JEE Advanced score.

Dear aspirant,

Yes of course you can join in Architecture after completing diploma. You can join Architecture if you complete Diploma in Civil Engineering through lateral entry scheme. To get admission into B.Arch you should qualify with good rank in NATA entrance exam.
