Engineering is a degree which is offered in various colleges. The eligibility criteria is different for different college.

Jee mains is a national level exam conducted for admission in top engineering colleges like IIT, NIT, IIIT,DTU, NSUT, IPU etc.If you not clear the JEE main then also you can pursue engineering on the basis of other entrance exam or higher studies Score. It is not get you can't pursue engineering without jee mains. You can appear for BITSTAT, comedk or any other entrance exam and then get admission in an engineering colleges. You can also get engineering course in some colleges where there is no such eligibility criteria but that can affect the category of the college.
