Hello Tuber (Stage name)

Well, i am not from Thapar university but the feedback which i have got from my friends which are there is somewhat positive for MEchanical Department.

As compared to other Private institute it has got a slight edge. yes. it is not at the level of The IIT's or Nit's(Most) but it is somewhat better than few NIT's( Debateble).

You need somewhat 150-170 in JEE for getting MEchanical department.

Being a VIT student i can say yes but only if you can have a CGPA of 8.5 and above ( for placements in good Comapanies) and have relevent skills. I do not know much about Thapar. But please do not prefer Mechanical in VIT. Scope is not that much. If you are opting VIT then please go for IT or CSE ( if interested).
