The placement of College of Engineering Guindy, Tamil Nadu is below par when compared to its reputation as one of the top notch institutes of Tamil Nadu and India. The placements of CS and IT are good and the packages are high, but for other branches like civi, mechanical, etc. the placements are below par with low packages and students remaining unplaced. In case of specialized departments like mining, material science, biomedical engineering, etc. the placement is very poor as both the authorities and the students of these epartments are not interested in core placements. 

A majot reason behind these poor placements is the CUIC which is the placement cell of Anna University. There are grave managerial issues which need to be addressed before the placements become suitable for a college of its reputation.
