It depends year to year.But very few seats are left vacant for bds. The government BDS seats are almost fully filled.The private ones have some vacancy. So you can understand the degree has a good demand. BDS is a good course where you get to study almost all the stuffs as MBBS course .Also there is a good demand for dentists in the country and abroad. So its not necessarily that those who haven't got MBBS opt for BDS.
