for year 2019, 8,35,741 candidates have attempted for jee mains for BE/BTech course.

for year 2020 jee mains january session :- 869010 candidates have appeared. This strength will increase after 2nd session is conducted. it is uncertain to say state wise. The  accurate data is available with NTA board.  it is difficult to say the accurate number but it will be 25k-30k approximately.
