Dear Jai, the basic eligibility criteria remains the same. You need to complete your Graduation with a minimum aggregate of 50% if you are from General Category and its 45% for Reserved Categories. You should have secured this Graduation degree after 10+2 or equivalent. IIM Indore adopts a 3 stage selection process which include Eligibility Criteria, Shortlist for Written Ability Test and Personal Interview and Final Selection.
In 2018, Sectional and Overall Percentile Cut offs have been as follows:
                                 QA                DLR           VARC        Overal
General                   80                  80              80               90
NC-OBC                  70                  70              70               80
SC                            55                  55              55               60
ST                            45                  45              45               50
PwD                        45                  45              45               50
Only those Candidates following this criteira will be selected for Written Ability and Personal Interview. Those shortlisted using the merit list generated based on Composite score.
Composite score is calculated as follows:
  • 10th Standard: 36*[Z Candidate-Z min/Z max- Z min]
  • 12th Standard: 40*[Z Candidate-Z min/Z max- Z min]
  • CAT 2019 score: 20*[Candidate's overall score /Highest CAT score]
  • Gender Diversity Factor: = 4 for female applicants
                                               =0 for other applicants

Composite score= sum of the above scores

Now coming to the final selection, the computation of final composite score is considered as follows:

  • 10th Standard: 10*[Z Candidate-Z min/Z max- Z min]

  • 12th Standard: 10*[Z Candidate-Z min/Z max- Z min]

  • CAT 2019 score: 20*[Candidate's overall score /Highest CAT score]

  • WAT score: 20*[Z Candidate -Z min/ Z max-Z min]

  • PI score: 40* [Z Candidate-Z min/Z max-Z min]

Composite score= sum of the above scores

So based on your Category, it is:

  • General Category: 90+
  • OBC-NCL: 80+
  • SC: 60+
  • ST: 50+

Dear Aspirant

If  you wanted to do master of business administration after qualifying cat then I would like to tell you that you have to score in top 1 percentile candidates on the basis of your rank, so for that you have to work harder, so forget about competition and work harder to be in that top 1 percentile.

Good luck for your future :)

Feel free to ask if you have any further queries.
