Hello there,
To secure a seat in Chemical Engineering through the JEE Main or JEE Advanced exam, the required rank varies depending on the institute and category:
Top IITs (e.g., IIT Bombay, IIT Delhi) : Generally, a rank within the top 2,000–5,000 in JEE Advanced is needed for general category students, though it can go higher for reserved categories.
NITs and IIITs : Through JEE Main, ranks up to around 10,000–20,000 for general category students could secure a seat in Chemical Engineering at popular NITs. Lesser-known NITs may accept ranks up to 30,000 or slightly higher.
State and Private Colleges : Some state and private colleges accept JEE Main scores with ranks up to 50,000 or more for Chemical Engineering.
Each year’s cutoff varies, so always check the previous year’s cutoffs for the specific institutions you are targeting.
