There can be times when the Army Institute of Technology may consider applicants who are not wards of Army personnel after considering wards of Army personnel but chances of that are slim considering the number of applications they receive each year, so you may apply but don't hold too much hope as AIT declares on its website that it is strictly for Indian Army wards - Serving or retired, excluding wards of Navy and Airforce.
