RGIPT is a central government Institute which has been set up by The Ministry of Petroleum under an Act of Parliament as an Institute of National Importance alongside IITs and NITs. It's being mentored by IIT Kanpur

RGIPT has good faculty, infrastructure, placements and internships, and it provides good education. Placements: About 60-65% of students got placed in my batch through college placement drives. The highest package offered was 19 LPA offered by ONGC, and the lowest package was about 3 LPA by ICICI Bank.
