RGIPT offers BTech in Chemical Engineering, Computer Science Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Information Technology, Petroleum Engineering, Mathematics and Computing, Environmental Engineering and Renewable Energy Engineering, Geo Science and Engineering. All these programmes are of four years duration. Scores in JEE (A) is the deciding factor for admission to any of these programmes. The total fee for each of this programme is Rs. 11.54 lakhs. The fee for an SC or ST candidate is 9.56 lakhs.
RGIPT offers doctoral or PhD programmes in Humanities, Management Studies, Petroleum Engineering and in Sciences. The duration of the PhD programmes is between 3 to 6 years each. The eligibility would be a master's degree in the specific discipline or allied discipline with 60 percent marks or a cumulative performance index (CPI) of 6.00. A minimum of 75 percent marks or 7.5 CPI in bachelor's degree. RGIP, Amethi offers a four-year full-time BTech programme in computer science engineering (CSE). The entrance exam for admission to the RGIPT- CSE programme is the Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) Advanced. The fee for the programme is 11.54 lakhs. The fee for an SC or ST candidate is 9.56 lakhs. The number of seats for the programme is 60.
RGIPT is a central government Institute. It was set up by The ministry of petroleum under an act of Parliament as an Institute of National Importance. RGIPT is being mentored by IIT Kanpur.
