Dear student,

Csab - central seat allocation board, is responsible for filling the vacant seats in nits or iiits or gftis or iiest, after the josaa counseling is over.

Now, after josaa counseling, nearly 7430 seats are vacant, as per the vacant seat matrix released by CSAB.
So, these seats are going to be filled by the csab special round counseling, which will be total of 2 rounds.
And also note that - CSAB special round counseling is strictly done on the basis of JEE MAINS CRL RANKS.

For participating in csab special round counselling for nits, iiits, gftis, one must fulfill the basic eligibility criteria for participating in csab special round counseling :-

  • You must have given JEE Mains and have secured a valid rank

  • If you are not allotted any seat in JoSAA or didn't participated in JoSAA counselling or withdrawn your seat or your seat is cancelled, then also you can participate in CSAB special round for NITs, IIITs and GFTIs 2020

  • If you have been allotted any seat in NITs, IIITs or GFTIs through JoSAA and you are retaining your JoSAA seat, then also you can participate in csab special round counseling.

Now, as you have secured 120000 general rank in jee mains, then getting a nit or iiit is very negligible.
Though you will not get any nits or iiits or iiest, but you will get some top and good gftis.

With this much rank you can gey some of the top gftis like - Sant Longowal Institute of Engineering and Technology, Gurukula Kangri Vishwavidyalaya, Haridwar, Institute of Technology, Guru Ghasidas Vishwavidyalaya (A Central university), Bilaspur, (C.G.), Assam University, Silchar, etc.

Now, for participating in csab special round counseling, you have to do a separate registration by paying a registration fees. Without registration you will not be able to participate in csab round counseling. If you want to attend the csab counseling, then you better register yourself first and fill the choices before 19th November 2020.

Athulya Jaison Yes, you can take admission in Pondicherry university because your favorite subject is chemistry. But still i would advise that you take part in csab and get into the nations top gftis which are more better than Pondicherry university.

Hello Aspirant,

Central Seat Allocation Board (CSAB) is a separate board of counselling for engineering institutions therefore there is a need for registration again. Through CSAB Counselling special round is conducted to fill the seats remain vacant in JOSAA Counselling and apart from CSAB is also responsible for engineering admissions in Union Territories and North-Eastern states.

According to the rank you have mentioned in the question you cannot get any of the good NITs as per previous year's cut-offs but yes you can get some average NITs such as NIT Agartala, NIT Sikkim, NIT Silchar and so on if you deserves Home state quota for them other wise I would suggest you to sit for some state counselling because in some of the state government colleges you can get admission on such ranks.

Note that the cut-offs are bound to change every year depending upon various factors.

So you can use JEE-Main College Predictor to predict your chances of admission in different engineering colleges of India :-
