With 83 percentile in the SC category , you have a decent chance of getting into NITs through JoSAA counseling, but it depends on cutoff trends and your preferred branch .

What Should You Do?

1. If aiming for a better NIT & branch , focus on April JEE Main attempt and try to improve your score to 90+ percentile for better options.
   
   
2. If targeting IITs , prepare for JEE Advanced but ensure you qualify for it first (expected SC cutoff is around 55-60 percentile ).
   
   
3. If confused, do both – improve in April and keep JEE Advanced preparation parallel.

If your dream is IIT , prepare for Advanced . If you want a better NIT , focus on April attempt .
