First of all you will need to qualify USMLE (United States Licensing Medical Examination). There are four steps in this highly competitive exam -

1. Step 1
2. Step 2 CK
3. Step 2 CS
4. Step 3

Step 1:
Subjects - anatomy, physiology, biochemistry, microbiology, pharmacology, pathology, epidemiology, psychiatry and ethics

Step 2 CK (Clinical Knowledge):
Subjects - medicine, surgery, obgy, pediatrics, epidemiology and ethics

Step 2 CS (Clinical Skills):
This will test your clinical (practical) knowlege. Exam will be held in US.

After clearing the above steps, you will get your registration after which you can apply to various Universities. Make sure you prepare a good resume which will enhance your chances for the interview. After this, you can then appear for Step 3 which is a two day exam in US.
