I've passed my 12th standard and I want to persue my mbbs and pg from foriegn universities...so how can be MCAT useful to me
Hi Aman,
Thanks for your query. Good to know that you are aspiring to pursue medical studies abroad but this is just to inform you for international candidates, MCAT conducting body has prescribed certain criteria; aspirants should be either pursuing or have completed MBBS to be able to appear for MCAT examination. Moreover, ‘special request’ cases are also considered for which you need to contact with the officials. You also need to know that all the international students need to complete at least a four years undergraduate degree for admission to medical colleges in the USA. Medical College Admission Test (MCAT) is a standardised test for admission to medical schools in the USA, Australia, Canada and the Caribbean Islands.
Now, considering your academic background; if you want to pursue MBBS (known as MD in Canada) in the US or Canada, I would suggest you take SAT examination along with IELTS / TOEFL and pursue a regular Pre-med course to become eligible for appearing in MCAT . If you want to pursue MBBS in the UK, Singapore, you need to appear for BMAT.
