Yes, that's true. You aren't eligible for Economics Hons, because DU mandates Maths in 12th to be eligible for Eco (H). It's the toughest course when it comes to content and course material.

Now, you can pursue other courses like Statistics, B.Com (P), which are a little closer to Eco Hons in terms of content than say courses like English, History etc.

Or what you can do is apply to private institutes like Amity University. It allows Eco Honors even if you didn't Mathematics. So yes, if you do have the funds to study in an expensive college like Amity and are serious about Economics, I strongly suggest it. It has been rising recently, too.

Yes indeed, you won't be allowed get into B.A. Economics (hons) wihout maths in DU.

If you are from commerce background, without maths you can't even go for B.Com (hons). Then you are open to pursue either BBA or B.Com (prog).

You can also go for other arts courses, like B.A. (prog), B.A. History (hons), B.A. Geo (hons), etc.

There are various alternatives available for you. Choose the course which you want to pursue, and have interest in.
