Hello

Your 77.78 percentile in JEE Mains as a PwD (Persons with Disabilities) candidate gives you a significant advantage due to the lower cutoff for the PwD category.

To determine if you can get an NIT, consider the following :

1. PwD Category Cutoff :

The cutoff for PwD candidates is much lower than the general category.

In previous years , candidates with even below 50 percentile have secured NIT seats under the PwD category.

2. CRL-PwD Rank Estimation :

If 12 lakh students appeared , your CRL Rank would be around 2,66,000 (approx).

The PwD rank depends on the number of PwD candidates, which is much lower, improving your chances.

3. Choice of NIT and Branch :

Top NITs (like NIT Trichy, NIT Warangal, NIT Surathkal) may be difficult.

Lower-ranked NITs or branches like Metallurgy, Biotechnology, Civil or lesser-demanded ones may be possible.

Hope this gives you the clarity you need.

Congratulations on your first attempt score.

As a PWBD (Person with Benchmark Disability) candidate, you're eligible for reserved seats in NITs. The cutoff scores for PWBD candidates are typically lower than those for general category candidates.

NIT Cutoffs for PWBD Candidates:

In the past, PWBD candidates with scores around 70-80 have secured seats in NITs. However, cutoffs may vary depending on the institute, branch, and category.

With a score of 77.78, you have a good chance of getting an NIT. Here are some possible NITs you might consider:

- NIT Rourkela: PWBD cutoffs have ranged from 65-80 in the past.

- NIT Surathkal: PWBD cutoffs have ranged from 70-85 in the past.

- NIT Nagpur: PWBD cutoffs have ranged from 60-80 in the past.

Keep in mind that these are general trends and cutoffs may vary from year to year.

Next Steps:

1. Check the official NIT websites: Verify the cutoff scores and admission procedures for PWBD candidates.

2. Participate in JoSAA counseling : Register for JoSAA counseling to secure a seat in an NIT.

3. Prepare for further attempts (if needed): If you're not satisfied with your current score, prepare for further attempts to improve your score.

Remember to stay updated with the latest information and admission procedures. Good luck!
