1800 is a good rank you can try for the branches Mechanical, ECE etc. and for CSE it can be average chance. But the new system requires a exceptionally good score in class 12 board for the admission through stream one, else a good score both in class 12 board and JEE mains(ex:960 in IPE and 200 in JEE) for the admission through the second stream.
