Well i can assist u in this.

The marks u have got is just above the cut off of the hemical branch in GATE EXAM. As the chemical engg. is not that much prevailed all round tyhe country the appearing students are less compared to the core branch students. Therefore the marks needed rises.

U are asking for getting PSUs then sorry buddy, u might not get that even u may get deprived to get admissioned in the IITS and good NITS for ur further studies. But still u can apply for the NITS on the lower end to pursue ur studies.
