Hello student,

With 508 marks in NEET 2024 and a General Category rank of 198,000 , securing a seat in a semi-government medical college with an annual fee in the range of Rs. 7-8 lakhs is possible, but it may require careful selection of colleges and participation in multiple counseling rounds.

Key Considerations:

  1. Semi-Government Colleges :

    • Semi-government colleges typically have lower fees than private institutions but higher than government colleges.

    • Your rank might allow you to get a seat in some semi-government colleges, though competition will be significant in this category.

  2. Fee Range :

Begin a career in Medical and Allied Sciences. Admissions Open for

Apply to JSS University Mysore 2025

    • The fee range of Rs. 7-8 lakhs per year is common in many semi-government colleges. However, you should confirm the exact fee structure during counseling as it can vary slightly from one college to another.

  3. Counseling Strategy :

    • State Counseling : Focus on state-level counseling where your domicile might give you an edge. States like Maharashtra, Karnataka, and Uttar Pradesh have semi-government colleges within your fee range.

    • All India Quota : Participate in All India Quota counseling as well, but keep in mind that seats in semi-government colleges may fill up quickly.

  4. Backup Plan :

    • Consider having a list of colleges that fit your criteria, including some private colleges as backups in case the semi-government options don’t work out.

With 508 marks and your rank, you have a fair chance of securing a seat in a semi-government medical college with an annual fee of Rs. 7-8 lakhs . Active participation in both state and All India counseling, along with flexibility in college selection, will be key to securing the right seat.
