With a 73 percentile in JEE Mains, getting admission into an NIT is unlikely. Typically, NITs have cutoffs well above this percentile, often requiring a percentile in the 90s to secure a seat in popular branches.

Options:

1. Lower-ranked NITs: You might have a chance at some of the newer or lesser-known NITs for less competitive branches.
   
   
2. Other Institutions: Consider applying to state-level engineering colleges , private engineering colleges , or Government-Funded Technical Institutes (GFTIs) , where the cutoff may be lower.
   
   
3. Alternative Pathways: Explore management quota or direct admissions if available.
